The idea

When you support someone through most platforms, your money takes a detour. It goes into the platform's account, sits there, and a cut is skimmed off before what's left reaches the person you meant to support. You pay a fee for the privilege, and a company you never chose ends up sitting between you and them.

Wholly does the opposite. It is a discovery and routing service, not a payment processor. We never hold, move, or take a cut of your money. We simply show you the best way to send it — and you send it yourself, directly, on rails we don't operate. 0% fee, always.

The most efficient route

The cheapest way to send money is almost never the obvious one. A card payment across a border can lose a tenth of the gift to fees and exchange-rate markup. A free local transfer loses nothing. So Wholly works out the shortest path between how you can pay and how the creator can receive:

• A free local transfer, whenever possible. If you and the creator are in the same money system, you send instantly and for free using the scheme your country already uses — PayShap in South Africa, Pix in Brazil, UPI in India, Zelle in the US, Faster Payments in the UK, SEPA across the euro area, and many more.
• A single clean cross-border hop as a fallback. When you're in different systems, Wholly points you at a low-cost route such as a Wise transfer, so the money crosses the border once, at the real exchange rate, instead of being nibbled at each step.

You tell us, once, how you can pay. Creators tell us how they can receive. For every creator you visit, Wholly shows you the leanest option available to the two of you — no guesswork, no accidentally expensive choice.

Built to preserve privacy

Because we never touch the funds, we never need the things a payment processor would: no card number, no bank login, no reason to profile your giving. The transfer happens between your bank and the creator's — Wholly isn't in the middle of it and never sees it.

The routes themselves are chosen with privacy in mind too. Where a country offers a proxy scheme — paying to a phone number or a handle instead of a raw account number — Wholly prefers it, so neither side has to hand over more detail than the transfer needs.

How it works

1. A creator publishes a support page with the ways they can receive money.
2. You record, once, the currencies you can send locally and whether you have a Wise account.
3. On any creator's page, Wholly shows you the cheapest route the two of you share. You send the money yourself. Done.

Support given this way is voluntary and unconditional, like dropping something in a tip jar — it isn't a purchase, and it comes with no strings attached.

Why we bother

A donation should arrive whole. The person you admire should get what you gave them, not what a payments company decided to leave behind. That is the entire point of Wholly, and it's where the name comes from.
